"Halloween, Thanksgiving," he echoes with a hand, lifting a hand so he can start ticking off his fingers as he lists more. "Labor Day, Be Late for Something Day--that's the fifth of September, by the way, I can think of a few ways we can accomplish that--then there's always Saturday. No shortage, really."
He grins into the kiss, parting his lips so their tongues can meet and work in unison like they always do, in sync just like they always are. It's amazing how well Joel understands him in so many ways, from the right way to touch him to the right way to comfort him, and it makes Spencer's chest swell with affection for his boyfriend. Nobody else has access to him like this, though he's slowly become less closed-off than he'd used to be before meeting Joel.
"So happy," he says with an affirming nod, though that doesn't even begin to cover what Joel makes him feel. It's indescribable because Spencer is still trying to piece it all together. He has no reference for this, not even anything he's read in books because for once, he thinks what's written in the books he's read can't do this justice. He wonders if it's an inability to truly take to pen and paper a relationship so strong or if there's simply no way to properly describe it at all. Either way, he's beyond grateful to know it himself, to not have to rely on the words of others to tell him what he should hope to one day feel for someone.
He has it now. He has Joel.
He trails his fingertips up and down Joel's spine, tilting his head to get a better look at his boyfriend. "Wait, have we just decided that the rest of our holidays will be spent with me bent over tables or various other kinds of furniture?" He arches a suggestive eyebrow. "Because I'm very much not opposed to that."
