Davin has this weird sense of dread, and the odd smile on Roman's face isn't making him feel any better. There's just something strange about the whole thing, and Davin frowns when Roman asks Spencer to go get him some coffee. There's this smug superiority in his tone and actions, and Davin watches as Spencer awkwardly turns to head for the office before he looks at Roman skeptically.
"So," he begins, trying to keep his tone light and joking, "if there's nothin' wrong with your car, why are ya here bossin' 'round my friends in my shop?"
Davin is smiling tightly as he says it, but he feels uncomfortable around the man. He suddenly flashes back to being attacked in this very shop, and for a service bay so spacious, it suddenly feels like the walls are closing in.
"Fine, you got me," Roman replies with that same unnerving smile. "I didn't just stop by to say hi. I knew you'd both be here, and I need a... favor, I guess you'd say."
There's something in his tone that puts Davin on edge, and he's close to reaching into his pocket to call James. He feels threatened for reasons he couldn't even really explain, and he's tense when Spencer returns. Roman doesn't take the coffee and just keeps smiling like a creep, and Davin has had about enough.
"Look, man. I'm finishin' this up for Spencer an' then I'm closin' up shop for the night," Davin tells him, and his voice has lost all its humor now. "So I think ya should head on out, alright?"
"No need to be so dramatic, Davin," Roman replies with a smirk, and Davin rolls his eyes. He steps away with his fingers clenched at his side, prepared to defend himself and Spencer if need be, but he clearly underestimates the danger that they're in. As soon as he turns, Roman picks up the wrench Davin had been using earlier and winks at Spencer before lifting his arm and cracking Davin across the back of the head with it. Davin drops like a stone, falling unconscious to the cement floor with his head turned towards Spencer, eyes closed as blood drips onto the floor.
Roman puts his foot on Davin's shoulder, toe of his boot edging in towards his neck. He grins at Spencer and calmly takes a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe his fingerprints from the handle of the bloody wrench before setting it on top of Joel's car. "Now, Spencer. We're going to take a little trip, alright? And you'll be quiet and cooperate, I'm sure, because you wouldn't want anything else to happen to your dear little witch friend, right?"
